Tickets Now On Sale For RAF Musical Salute To The Queen's Jubilee Concert 2012

Tickets for the RAF Musical Salute To The Queen's Jubilee Concert are now on sale at their advanced price of £28.00 per Adult and £18.00 per Child. These discounted prices will be valid until 1st May 2012.

This magnificent event will take place at Loseley Park in Guildford, Surrey on Saturday 23rd June 2012 and will feature the Central Band of the Royal Air Force performing with other special guests.

RAF To Celebrate Diamond Jubilee

The Central Band of the Royal Air Force will take centerstage for this salute to HM The Queen in her Diamond Jubilee year.

It is fitting that Loseley Park should host this unqiue event - its royal connections date from 1570 when Elizabeth I visited the newly rebuilt house which is located 3 miles from Guildford, the County Town of Surrey.

Her Majesty's strong links to the Royal Air Force will be celebrated through music, aircraft, special effects, archive and modern film footage as we look at the "Royal" in Royal Air Force.

 

Blades Aerobatic Display Team

The Blades Aerobatic Display Team have agreed to appear on the Saturday only on behalf of the Royal Air Force Association who's colours are on the four display aircraft. The world famous team which are have performed to many millions of people around the world in their Extra 300LP, The nine Blades’ pilots have two OBEs, a Distinguished Flying Cross and a ‘Mentioned in Dispatches’ between them. With over 20,000 hours of military flying between them, their heritage is outstanding. Two of them commanded RAF Harrier Squadrons in the most exacting of circumstances (in Iraq and Afghanistan) and one of them led the Red Arrows. Six of the Blades were Harrier pilots, two were Jaguar pilots, all were RAF instructors.

If you would like to fly with the Blades you will have the opportunity to bid for a flight during the RAFA auction during the interval.

Agile, Adaptable, Capable are the three words that best describe the RAF and they are certainly true of the Central Band, as well as taking part in the main concert several will take to the stage beforehand to entertain the crowd with some unexpected contemporary music from the likes of Michael Buble, Queen, Blues Brother and the Pussy Cat Dolls.

 

RAF Chinook Helicopter Confirmed to Fly at Chartwell

A Royal Air Force Boeing Chinook helicopter from RAF Odiham in Hampshire will take part in the concert as we look at the vital role undertaken by this unique aircraft in support of troops from the Falklands to the current operations in Afghanistan.

BBMF Spitfire to Open Concert

It has been confirmed that the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will be taking part with the oldest airworthy Spitfire. The MkII Spitfire, in the colours of 92 Sqn which served at RAF Biggin Hill, is also the only example still flying to have taken part in the Battle of Britain.

Stacey Solomon Confirmed For Chartwell Concert 2011

Stacey SolomonWe can now confirm that Stacey Solomon will be appearing on both nights of A Musical Salute To The RAF Chartwell Concert. Stacey had a number 1 with the Glenn Miller hit "At Last" which she recorded with the RAF Squadronaires last year.

The concert will take place at National Trust Chartwell in Kent on Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th September 2011 and will also feature the Central Band of the Royal Air Force.
