A Musical Salute To The Royal Air Force
Chartwell Concert 2011
Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th September 2011
The beautifully manicured garden of Chartwell, with its sloping gardens down to the ornamental lake, make the perfect setting for A Musical Salute to the Royal Air Force.
A Unique Event - Not To Be Missed
Atmospheric Chartwell, the former residence of Air Commodore Sir Winston Churchill, will be brought to life by this patriotic celebration of the role of the Royal Air Force - "Yesterday and Today".
The Central Band of the Royal Air Force will take centre stage with special guests, Stacey Solomon, Fiona Howell, The RAF Presentation Team and the Spitfires Choir for this twilight concert. Supported by displays of historic and modern RAF aircraft, special effects, archive and modern film footage - this concert will bring alive some of the RAF's greatest moments of yesterday and today. Men and women of today's RAF will join us in a celebration of their current service culminating in an uplifting, patriotic finale.
“In any future conflict it must be recognised that the RAF is the senior service. Today, the effectiveness of air power shows this to be true” - Sir Winston Churchill.
